Online Dharma Talk: Open and Free - The Space Around Experience

with Martin Aylward

Sunday, April 5th, 2020 from 11:00am-12:00pm online via Zoom

We find ourselves easily enmeshed in and defined by our sensory, mental and emotional experience. Yet amidst all the details and dramas of our lives, contemplative practice invites us into the embrace of loving awareness, in which we can know both a deep intimacy with our experience, and a simultaneous independence from it. During this morning of practice, teachings and exploration together, we’ll look closely at how to really care for what is happening; how to honour our human experience while also cultivating the liberating capacity to meet everything spaciously.

About the Teacher:

Martin Aylward has been teaching dharma worldwide for 20 years. Martin co-founded and is guiding teacher of the retreat center MoulindeChaves.org in SW France, where he lives with his wife Gail, and where their (now adult) 2 children were raised. He is founding and guiding teacher of WorldwideInsight.org, and co-founder and director of the MindfulnessTrainingInstitute.com which has trained over 200 Mindfulness teachers in 25 countries. He takes groups of Dharma students to India and Bhutan, and in 2015 was invited by the Bhutanese government to speak at TEDx Thimphu. His teaching integrates a depth of experience in the Asian traditions in a contemporary context and language, and focusses on the inherent free-ness that is the ground of our human nature.
