Altered Traits: Science Reveals How Meditation Changes Your Mind, Brain and Body

A book talk and signing with Daniel Goleman

Sunday, April 8th, 2018, 2:00pm-3:30pm

Join us for an afternoon book talk and signing with New York Times best-selling author and psychologist Daniel Goleman as he shares the strongest scientific findings on why meditation matters for our lives. Drawing on his newest book, co-written with neurologist Richard Davidson, Altered Traits: What Science Reveals How Meditation Changes Your Mind, Body and Brain, Goleman explores meditation and mindfulness as more than a quick fix or a modern day fad. Through cutting edge research, he reveals how human beings can employ meditation in order to achieve real, positive, and lasting mental and behavioral change.

ABOUT DANIEL GOLEMAN

Psychologist and author of the New York Times bestseller Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman was twice nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and received the American Psychological Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for his media writing.

Well-known for his work in leadership and education, Dr. Goleman is also a distinguished voice in the field of meditation. A meditator since his college days, Goleman has spent two years in South Asia, first as a Harvard Predoctoral Traveling Fellow and then again on a Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Dr. Goleman’s first book, The Meditative Mind: The Varieties of Meditative Experience, was written on the basis of that research, offering an overview of various meditation paths.
